You should go for yellow acrylic nails at your next mani appointment

Published on 24 July 2018 - Last updated on 19 December 2025 by Beth Ryan

The sun is shining (somehow), and I’m drinking iced coffee by the bucketload – hoorah for summer.

Though I’m not one to match my mani to the weather report, we’re stating it now: yellow nails will lift your mood.

The new nail trend is replacing Millennial Pink as the latest ‘it’ colour, the Gen Z polish if you like. Designers like Calvin Klein have taken it to the runway, and I’m bringing it to the workplace (reality and all that). From pale buttercream to pineapple-toned brights, a quick scroll of your Instagram feed and you’ll spot yellow nails in abundance.

Make it a gel mani for your yellow to last longer, or go with extensions if length is what you’re after (though the shade suits short nails too). Summer-flecked fingertips that’ll keep you grinning through the work day – dreamy.

    FAQs

Why are yellow nails so popular this summer?

Yellow nails are considered the new trend for the season, offering a fresh alternative to Millennial Pink. Designers like Calvin Klein have featured yellow nails on the runway, and the colour has become widely visible on social media feeds, making it a standout choice for summer style.

What shades of yellow can you choose for your manicure?

You can pick from a range of yellows, from pale buttercream to pineapple-toned brights. The variety in shades allows you to match your mood and personal style, so everyone can find the perfect tone for their summer manicure.

How can you make yellow nails last longer?

Opting for a gel manicure will help your yellow nails last longer. Gel polish is designed to be more durable than regular polish, so your manicure stays bright and chip-free for weeks during the summer.

Does yellow nail polish suit short nails?

Yellow nail polish looks great on short nails as well as longer ones. The colour is bright and versatile, so you can enjoy this trend no matter your nail length. Extensions are an option too if you want extra length.
